David Schneider
The visionary behind Pizza Luce, David has spent 30+ years championing bold flavors and community culture in Minneapolis. His philosophy: pizza should always surprise you.
It started in 1993 with a wood-fired oven, a fierce love of flavor, and a corner spot on Lyndale Avenue South in Minneapolis. Founder David Schneider wanted to create more than a pizza place — he wanted a neighborhood gathering spot where bold tastes and inclusive culture could coexist under the same roof.
"Pizza should push boundaries, not just fill a box. Every pie we make is a creative statement — an invitation to try something unexpected and delicious."
The name "Luce" — Italian for "light" — reflects our philosophy. We bring light to classic recipes through imaginative toppings, house-made sauces, and a genuine commitment to quality. From our signature Chicken Carbonara Pizza to our fan-favorite Taco pizza, every item on our menu is crafted with intention.
Over three decades, we've grown to multiple locations across the Twin Cities, but our spirit hasn't changed: bold flavors, warm hospitality, and a belief that the best pizza is the one made with heart.
We believe great pizza is only as good as the people who make it and the community that shares it. These values guide everything we do.
We never settle for ordinary. Every recipe is an opportunity to surprise, delight, and challenge what pizza can be. Innovation is baked into our DNA.
We source locally whenever possible, partner with trusted farmers, and never cut corners. Fresh dough, real cheese, and vibrant produce — every single day.
Pizza Luce is woven into Minneapolis culture. We support local artists, partner with nonprofits, and open our doors to everyone — no exceptions, no judgment.
From vegan options to gluten-free crusts, we make sure every guest has something extraordinary on their plate. Everyone belongs at our table.
To serve Minneapolis communities boldly crafted pizza that celebrates creativity, connects neighbors, and reminds everyone that food is one of life's greatest pleasures.
